CRI: What inspired you to get into producing music and how did you get started?
DUB: I started making music as a hobby and for fun. I took drum lessons for 8 years growing up, so I was always around music..After graduating college with an audio engineering degree, I started working in studios around Nashville. Producing just started as a hobby as well & slowly grew to what it is today!
CRI: What was the first released song you produced?
DUB: Honestly have no idea.. Probably a random song with friends from my hometown. LOL.
CRI: What artists do you seem to creatively gel with the best?
DUB: Big Murph for sure. I feel like we bring out the best in each other and for the past couple years me and Leroy Biggs have been grinding hard and making some great records.
CRI: How do you approach sensitive creative differences with artists?
DUB: I try my best to let the artist do what they do.. I will step in from time to time when I know they could do a better take, or something technical that they might not understand. I’m down for whatever is going to make the best sounding song in the end.
CRI: What is your “must have” piece of gear?
DUB: Neumann U87 microphone, Tube-Tech CL 1B (Software cause of price lol)
CRI: What is your musical weapon of choice?
DUB: Drums, Piano
CRI: What is the most important element every good song must have?
DUB: That’s hard to say because many great songs have completely different elements that make them great, but a few things would be- a catchy hook, great beat, professional mix/mastering
CRI: Is there an artist you want to work with that you have not yet had the chance to work with?
DUB: Lil Wayne
CRI: What can we expect from you in 2021?
